  Crazy 8 Rules

Crazy 8s. This game is for two or more players. However, if you are playing with more than 4 players, you should use two decks of cards since one will not be enough.

Start by dealing seven cards to each person. But if 3 or more people are playing you should deal five cards per person.

The cards left over after the deal will be the stock. You can reveal the top card.

Now the player clockwise from the dealer will play a card.

The goal here is to get rid of all cards in your hand. Keep this in mind.

If the top card in the stock is not an 8, you can lay down any card matching in suit or rank.

Since 8s are "crazy" you can play an 8 no matter what the top card in the stock.

When you play an 8, you will say which suit players must play. It can be any suit.

Note that if the first card turned over is an 8, that is the suit that must be played.

If you can't play, draw from the stock until you can. When the stock is exhausted you can pass.

If you get rid of all your cards before anyone else, you win. Now you collect your points. Add up the points in the other player(s)' hands. 8s count 50 (obviously you want to make sure you get rid of your 8s!). Face cards count 10. Other cards are count face value.

Keep playing until someone reaches 100 points (or 200 or 500).

Game Variations

Below are a few alternate rules you may consider using.

• You only pick up one card from the stock per turn.

• You can lay down multiple same-ranked cards at the same time.

• If an 8 is revealed as first card from the stock pile, put it back in the deck and take another card.
